Greater Riverdale Thrives Community Coalition (GRT) - a program of Metamorphosis - is an inclusive, non-partisan, network of individuals and organizations seeking to uplift the Greater Riverdale Area. The mission of the Coalition is to coordinate the allocation of resources, services and opportunities in our area.

The Coalition was formed by the Central Kenilworth Avenue Revitalization Community Development Corporation (CKAR) and Neighborhood Design Center as part of the Action Planning Process in 2020 while working with Kaiser Permanente on their Greater Riverdale Place-based initiative. A place-based initiative is a tool communities use to transform their environment. Community Leaders and Residents come together to use resources to address the economic and social factors that influence individual and group differences in health status.

Metamorphosis works with the Coalition Workgroup Leaders (Steering Committee) in the areas of Affordable Housing, Community Engagement, Economic Empowerment, Food Access and Youth & Schools. The Steering Committee meets quarterly as listed below. Also, meeting quarterly (dates listed below) are our Community and Workgroup Meetings.

  • Steering Committee

The GRT Steering Committee meets quarterly:

Through these meetings plans, strategies and evaluation is discussed and implemented in accord with the community assessment (see workgroup) and workgroup meetings.

  • Workgroups

The backbone of the Coalition’s effectiveness will be the level to which we synergize our community’s felt needs and the efforts of our partner community based organizations. Your input and participation is vital. Become an official member using the button below. Let us know what is important to you by filling out our community assessment, here. Attend one of our specific virtual workgroup meetings the first Wednesday in March, June, September and/or December.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
