Metamorphosis Healthier Choices Initiative
Healthier Choices. Stronger Community.
MHCI is our free, drop-in health program — open to any Greater Riverdale resident who wants to make healthier choices for themselves and their family. No commitment. No cost. Just community.
What Is MHCI?
The MHCI Metamorphosis Healthier Choices Initiative is a free, ongoing community health program launching in July 2026. Sessions are drop-in — come when you can, bring who you want, and leave with something real: knowledge, connections, and practical tools for a healthier life.
MHCI is built around five pillars: Healthy Food, Education, Exercise, Community, and Wraparound Support. Together, they address the full picture of what it means to live well in Greater Riverdale.
This program is for everyone. No income requirement. No health insurance needed. No prior experience with wellness programs required. Just show up.
“MHCI is not a clinic. It is a community-powered health movement — free, open, and built for Greater Riverdale.” — Metamorphosis Community Project
The Five Pillars — What MHCI Covers
Five interconnected focus areas shape every session. Each one matters. Together, they change lives.
• Healthy Food — Understanding nutrition, making informed food choices, and connecting to healthy food resources right here in our community.
• Education — Health literacy, chronic disease awareness, and navigating the healthcare system — so you can advocate for yourself and your family.
• Exercise — Practical, accessible movement for every body and every schedule. Physical activity is for everyone — and we’ll show you how.
• Community — Accountability partners, shared goals, and a network of neighbors on the same journey. You don’t have to do this alone.
• Wraparound Support — Connections to social services, healthcare referrals, and the full range of MCP’s community resources — meeting you where you are.
